Privacy Policy

DictaWiz is built so that, by default, nothing you dictate or type leaves your device. This page explains what the app does and does not collect.

Dictation and audio

Speech recognition runs on-device by default. Audio is processed locally to produce text and is not uploaded, unless you explicitly enable an optional cloud speech engine in Settings, in which case only the audio for the request you initiate is sent, and it is not retained by us afterward.

Keystrokes

As a custom keyboard, DictaWiz requires iOS "Full Access" to use the microphone at all (this is an iOS requirement, not something we choose). Full Access does not mean we read what you type in other apps.DictaWiz never logs, uploads, or reads keystrokes outside of what you explicitly dictate or select for an AI skill.

AI skills

Text-based AI skills (rewriting, replies, translation, and similar) run on-device using Apple Intelligence or the on-device Gemma engine, whichever you select. A small number of skills call an external service to do their job, for example a map or weather lookup, and only the specific query needed for that action is sent, not your broader dictation history.

Notes and storage

Notes, transcripts, and summaries are stored on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, they sync through your own iCloud account, encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple's infrastructure. We do not operate a separate server that stores your notes.

Accounts and analytics

No account or sign-up is required to use DictaWiz. Basic, non-identifying product analytics may be collected to understand feature usage and diagnose crashes; this does not include the content of your dictation, notes, or AI skill results.
